#MarketersBreakfast - Connection is in the Air!
Three years after our last Speed-Dating breakfast, we were finally able to return to our favorite and most cherished in-person event!
With glitter hearts decorating the tables, and guiding questions to spark the romance, we kicked off the love-filled event with several agency partners and clients like Papa Johns, Orkin, Jabra, and more.
An in-person event can feel a little challenging after many years spent either isolating or virtually connecting, so we provided questions to help break the ice and spend the allotted six minutes getting into the meat of each other’s lives. In our years as connectors, we’ve found that the best networking is when you move past your title, and actually get to know the person in front of you. Chemistry is going to trump capability every time.
We even heard firsthand from some attendees who said they talked about their kids the whole time, and, because the connection was authentic and genuine, the two Marketers wanted to connect beyond the six minutes to potentially talk about doing work together.
Relationships are built on mutual respect and interest. In order to help ignite that spark, we left the following conversation starters on the table:
What is your marketing superpower?
Who is your marketing role model, aka your marketing celebrity crush?
What did you learn from your most adventurous marketing project?
How would you describe the culture and personality of your company?
How would your best marketing partner describe your company?
What’s your biggest pet peeve in a marketing relationship?
What realm of marketing are you most excited to explore?
Tell me about a bad “marketing” romance where you wanted to break up the relationship.
What attributes make up your perfect marketing partnership?
What’s the craziest, coolest job you’ve ever had?
Consider using these questions at your next event to break the ice!
Speaking of “breaking the ice,” our last 2022 #MarketersBreakfast actually focused on networking and fostering relationships using improv related activities. Since Setup offers a Team Building service based on improv principles like “Yes and,” we decided to tease a bit of the workshop to our #MarketersBreakfast attendees. If your team would be interested in diving in, and working on building their confidence, chemistry, and collaborative skills, check out the service offering here.
We truly enjoy hosting these #MarketersBreakfast events for Brands and Agencies, and we get inspired by the prospect of smart people connecting and clicking with one another. If you are a Client-side Marketer in Atlanta and would like to join us at our next in-person event at no cost to you, RSVP here.
