A Shout Out to Marketers Helping Nonprofits

Companies serve more than just their consumers. They also serve their employees by offering mental health resources, more PTO or remote options, and leaning into and supporting DEI initiatives and organizations. Truly living out the “empathy” practices that marketers preach about, a plethora of companies also contribute to others by doing work for Nonprofits.

Many individuals and the companies they work for have decided to spend more time helping others. And what is a great way to help a cause you care about? Getting involved with a Nonprofit organization!

Everyone deserves a shout out here and there, so here is our shout out to the companies and their employees who are diving deeper into serving the world and living out a bigger purpose by working with, volunteering for, and/or donating to Nonprofits.

Here are some ways you can help a Nonprofit:

  • Volunteer time/skills

  • Donate money

  • Offer technological resources

  • Provide marketing expertise

When Setup shifted to bi-monthly virtual events due to COVID, we knew we wanted to do more during such a difficult time by continuing to donate to Nonprofits and companies who were doing good and contributing to the community. Setup has always made a Nonprofit donation each time we hold an event, and with live events pausing for the foreseeable future, we wanted to keep that lifeline going when Nonprofits needed help the most.

Here is the list of companies we donated to during our bi-monthly Marketing Mixers, typically based on the theme of the mixer:

On an individual level, most of the team has volunteered for 48in48 - a great opportunity to utilize your marketing and technology skills to help Nonprofits in need. Setup Founder and CEO, Joe Koufman, also used the last year to work with the launch of the The A Pledge - an organization catered to Atlanta advertising and marketing agencies to come together in a committed effort to create inclusive opportunities within the industry.

If your company is looking to work with or serve some Nonprofit organizations, check out the list above. 48in48 specifically provides opportunities with and exposure to other Nonprofits that need marketing help.

There are so many ways Nonprofits can use help. Sometimes they need money and resources to fulfill their mission (almost always!), sometimes they need resources with skills they don’t have in-house, sometimes they need a discount or some work done pro-bono to get a marketing project done. The Setup agency partners do their own good work for Nonprofits in various ways - here are some of the Nonprofits they serve/work with:
