Human Connection
Human connection matters.
We believe the best marketing partnerships are built on trust, chemistry, and real understanding, not just capabilities lists.
Who We Are
Setup exists to make the marketing world feel more connected, more useful, and easier to navigate. We build relationships grounded in clarity, context, and trust, because the right relationship can move everything forward.
What Guides Us
Setup was built on the belief that the right relationship can change the trajectory of a brand, an agency, or a career. We bring structure, perspective, and understanding to a marketing world that can feel crowded, noisy, and hard to navigate.
Human Connection
We believe the best marketing partnerships are built on trust, chemistry, and real understanding, not just capabilities lists.
Right Fit
More options do not always create better outcomes. We believe the right relationship matters more than the longest list.
Clarity
Brands and agencies both make better decisions when the need, role, expectations, and next step are clearly understood.
How We Help
We help brands understand what kind of agency relationship they need, and we help agencies understand how to show up with more clarity, credibility, and confidence.
For Brands
We help brands understand what kind of agency support they need, what partner model makes sense, and which agency options are worth meeting.
For Agencies
We help agencies better understand where they fit, how they are perceived, and what helps them become a stronger choice for the right brands.
Why Setup
For more than 12 years, Setup has been part of thousands of conversations between brands, agencies, and marketers. Those conversations have shaped how we listen, how we evaluate fit, and how we help both sides make more confident partnership decisions.

Joe Koufman founded Setup to help client-side marketers find agency partners that are the right fit. He brings more than 20 years of marketing, business development, and leadership experience across a small digital firm, an independent full-service agency, and a large holding company. That mix of perspectives shaped his belief that better agency relationships start with better connections.
Before founding Setup, Joe served as SVP of Business Development and Marketing at Engauge, which was acquired by Publicis Groupe. He helped lead growth efforts connected to brands including Cisco Systems, Newell Brands, AMC Theatres, Hanesbrands, Hershey’s, Georgia-Pacific, and Chick-fil-A.
Joe is also the author of The Connector’s Compass, a book about building stronger personal and professional relationships through intentional, empathetic connections. His commitment to the marketing community extends beyond Setup, including leadership with AMA Atlanta.
A North Carolina native, Joe graduated from Wake Forest University with a double major in Speech Communications and Politics. He now lives in Atlanta with his twin children, Joss and Radley. Outside of work, Joe is a lifelong music enthusiast and a trumpet student, learning to play the instrument passed down to him by his grandmother.

Amanda has a zest for exploration and travel. When she is not working to improve the lives of clients, colleagues, and others, Amanda can be found reading, supporting Atlanta’s culture, swimming, skiing, practicing yoga, or playing with her dogs in Piedmont Park.
Rhonda has always believed that growth is not about what we sell. It is driven by a genuine desire to help. Rhonda has two distinguishing passions: cultivating authentic relationships and collaborative team building. Her philosophy is that great work starts with great teams, and great teams start with trust, empathy, and a spirit of collaboration.
With nearly two decades in agency growth, Rhonda has devoted her career to helping agencies unlock their full growth potential. Her journey has involved working with smaller boutique agencies to global leaders, always emphasizing the critical drivers of success: nurturing meaningful relationships, creating custom client solutions, and cultivating high-performing teams.
Rhonda is passionate about helping agencies realize the power of B2B strategies to attract the right clients and foster long-term, sustainable growth. Her approach is straightforward: understand your value, align with the clients who need it most, and establish lasting partnerships.
Rhonda has served on the board and volunteered for various marketing organizations, including AMA Atlanta, the Atlanta Interactive Marketing Association, now Fuse, and Women in Technology. Relocated from Atlanta’s buzz to South Florida’s shores, Rhonda fills her free time with year-round boating, scuba diving, and skiing, and loves making memories with friends and family.
