Setup® Participation In Marketing Events
We have been very busy here at Setup participating in marketing events:
Growing Tech Industry in Georgia - While I have no affiliation with the group that invited me, the Buckhead Young Republicans were putting on an event moderated by Keith Hanks with Georgia State Representative Buzz Brockway (recently named the TAG legislator of the year) and me serving as panelists. We had a fantastic discussion about how Georgia can continue to be a magnet for technology and marketing talent. There was lively discussion about TAG, AIMA, AMA Atlanta, ChooseATL, the Atlanta Tech Village, Switchyards, and other organizations that have a key role in attracting and keeping our best talent in Georgia.
Brand Hash (It Out) Series - Balancing Your Personal and Professional Brand - This was a fantastic discussion moderated by the talented brand strategist - Christine Walker. My fellow panelists were the spunky radio/TV personality - Dana Barrett and multi-faceted speaker, author, singer, and entrepreneur - J.R. McNair. We all agreed that being our most authentic selves at all times is better than trying to maintain two different versions of our personas. There was lively audience discussion about the role of social media to help curate our reputations online.
biz 1190 - The Dana Barrett Show - This was the most fun! Dana does such an amazing job of making you feel welcome in her studio, and we were able to jump right into a wonderful conversation. I hope you will give it a listen (the main interview begins at the 13:17 mark):
I was so proud to talk to Dana about Setup, 48in48, Everybody Wins! Atlanta, ChooseATL, GA Tech, SCAD Atlanta, and several other causes I am passionate about. We also had a great conversation about building a personal brand or reputation. We even talked about biz 1190 all-star producer - Isaac Mendoza.
Thank you to everyone that made these events such a success. I was so happy to be a part of them.
Best,
Joe
